This is not the America that Full House told me about.
Something I dig about SD: Little towns within the city. It reminds me of boroughs up north, which leaves me feeling less overwhelmed about this gigantic place.
My big activity of the day, besides paper writing, was to make little stickies to put on my map to remind me of where my friends are. Right now I have stickies on Scotland, Brooklyn, S. Korea, Japan, Portland, Guatemala, and obv. N.C.
Another thing I dig about SD: Their refusal to let ugly things continue to be ugly. There are murals all over here, and there are even some on electrical boxes and things of that nature. I wish sometimes that other places had a little more of this, "Why not?" attitude.
I might reflect a little more later, but as for right now, I'm reading in my apartment letting my tan leave.
